India-Pakistan all vs ROTW

Good Idea?

I think so...With the Indian batting and the pakistani bowling they could take on anyone

i think that it would make quite an interesting match. especially with the indian batting lineup in the form it is. The game would have to be played in india or pakistan for them to have a cnahce though because i dont think that they could win against the likes of a combined australia, south africa and the rest of the world outside of their own backyards. the concept is a good one. i think that a northern hemisphere vs southern hemisphere game would be more interesting.

I prefer to have this #1 ranked side vs ROTW...Australia are looking for new challenges, and this will definately be one of them.

Fair enough on Indian batting, but as far as Pak bowling is concerned, apart from Akhter rest are just mediocres (especially considering Saqlain isn't considered for selection, Danish too isn't given a fair run and most of the players chosen are just bits and pieces players)

I dont think just the indian batting and pakistan bowling would be that great. Indian batting has a few weaknesses too.

Instead this team is much better....

Umar
Shewag
Rahul
Sachin
inzi
Laxman
Moin Khan
Kumble/Harbhajan
Akhtar
Sami
Zaheer

Jono

Virat Kohli (c)
What happened to those Asia vs. the ROW games? I remember one where Bevan needed a 6 off the last ball to win and he hit a 4. I think this was in 2000.

didnt he score like 180 in that match??amazing innings. there was also england vs ROW in the millenium stadium in 2001 and 2002,where if u hit the roof u would get 12 runs...as u would expect england lost both times

what no razzaq???commone theres no point having laxman bat at no 8 coz hes a stroke maker and he'll probably be batting in the last few overs where hes not gonna be able to do the slogging that is required.

Akhtar, Murali and Vaas isn't a too shabby bowling line up. It won't compare with the ROW team but I think backed up by a brilliant batting team it could win.

That would be highly unfair to Indian batsmen, everytime expecting them to chase 340+ runs conceded by the Pak bolwers playing for same team.

Why would it be unfair?

With all the years of practising chasing the totals given up by the Indian bowlers (who are far worse a unit), they'd be used to it by now.

may be yuvraj(better stroke maker), but not razzaq.

sehwag+yuvraj bowling is better than razzaq(ROW much better at playing slow medium pacers than partime spinners) ATM.

dude you already have 5 stroke makers...what is the point of bringing in another one to bat at 6 in the subcontinent?he'll get an opportunity to bat only in the last 6-7 overs and needs to do some big hitting , IMO razzaq is more suited to that job than sehwag.

If my side had Razzaq listed at 6, I'd actually think it a bit weak to be honest.

Razzaq at 8 would be a different matter though.

My problem with him at 6 is I don't think he has the patience to build an innings (which is definitely a requirement on occasion from 6)

I don't think they have the bowling to win though.
Murali and Akhter are top two bowlers of the world, facing one is a nightmare, just imagine how it would be to face both !!

Backed by Vaas and Sami/Shabbir, the lineup seems very potent to me.
