Sharda Ugra: How far will the BCCI go to clean its stables? | Cricket | ESPN Cricinfo

Miss Urga is such a beautiful writer excellent breakdown of BCCI situation under new president, these two quotes cracked me up:

"To hear the word "independent" mentioned in a BCCI proposal is like hearing metalheads being asked to turn up for choir practice"

"To start with, the BCCI's constitution - as hard to access as details of Swiss bank accounts, with the occasional suspicion that like the unwritten British constitution, it was actually not to be found in a single document - is now online."

Ye it was excellent, Jarod Kimber & Sam Collins did a mini Andrew Jennings on the ICC.
I am dying to watch it actually. Is there a DVD release or a digital download anywhere? I know it screened in the UK during the Ashes, but how is it available to the general public?

I've had it with these snooty Big journalists treating non-UK folks like second class citizens. It's almost like they let market forces dictate their behaviour.

Film/Documentaries depend on distributors though. They don't have much to do if Australian or other non UK distributors don't pick it up for DVD/Digital sales.

The ironical thing is, government has run almost all sports bodies in India and they have run for losses for ages. The regime under Srinavasan ****ed up badly for Indian and world cricket but government intervention is the last thing we want. It's good the courts intervened when it did but we shouldn't have too much interference really. We are having players like Ganguly as CAB chief and hopefully we will have strong players take up even higher positions. That's our best hope.

Has Ganguly actually done anything noteworthy as administrator though?
Yeah. Was Secretary for around a year for CAB and quite active. Vision 2020 is in place in Bengal cricket now whereby we have young players coached regularly by Laxman, Murali and Sekar. Club structure in Bengal has been revamped for better involvement. Now, junior cricket is being focused on. Has done a lot in his time with CAB actually.

Ok cool - well whatever works, its clear in this new Big Three set-up whether it lasts or not (hopefully not of course) BCCI needs to get their administrative house in order.
