This thread is for all the "if only" moments that come aplenty in a World Cup. (If only, Gibbs had taken that catch. If only India batted first in that final and that semi-final after winning the toss etc etc)

My "if only" moments so far, all coming from the India-Eng match

1. India had completed that short run at the end of 1st innings
2. India had appealed for Strauss dismissal early in 2nd innings
3. Bell had been given out LBW after the review

Note: this thread is not meant to whine or tell others not to whine, but just to make a collection of sort of small moments that could have changed the course of a match or the tournament.

If only Zimbabwe hadnt bowled so well at India's top order in 1983, we wouldnt have witnessed such an incredible innings from Kapil Dev.

If only they hadnt listened to Richie Benaud's new idea for calculating the target in rain affected matches in 1992....

If only a few other sides beside New Zealand had loaded their side with dull medium pacers in 1992....

If only Sri Lanka hadnt gained those extra point from forfeited games in 1996....

If only Daan van Bunge had tried varying his line and length a bit when bowling to Gibbs in 2007....

If only England could have got Sunil Gavaskar out in 1975.......

if only rain had not saved SA vs Pakistan in the group match in 92 then we would have qualified directly rather then relying on other results.
