I'm sticking with my "horses for courses" approach.

Gooch (capt)
Atherton
Hussain
Thorpe
Smith
Hick
Stewart +
Embury
de Freitas
Gough
Fraser

Hick just holds on to his spot ahead of Gatting as he and Gooch may be required to bowl on a good batting wicket.

de Freitas and Fraser have the best bowling records in the squad at Trent Bridge. Gough and Caddick have similar records but Caddick may need a spell after 4 tough games.

Schultz back for Snell the only change for South Africa.

Just a heads up, I will probably have somewhat limited internet access over the next week or so, will try to keep up to date but that is no certainty

Great work to come off with the draw there, but disappointed with AI not bowling Aashish Kapoor more.
The AI could have maybe declared a bit earlier in the third innings, but the pitch was basically a road so probably would have made a lot of difference. Looks like the AI doesn't really know what to do with three spinners lol.

I know its late to ask, but how do the match conditions translate to being good or bad for spin? I presume its to do with 'wear' but I can't work it out based on the last few, ie SA is 'very good', NZ & Eng are 'average' , & Ind & Pak are in the middle ('good').

More green bars = better for batting

Yeah, essentially four green bars is as good/batsman friendly as the conditions can be, whilst four red bars is as harsh/bowler friendly as they can get. So, four green usually equals a road, if any of what I just said makes sense.

SL underperforming here. They simply must win all of their remanding matches to have a chance of playing in the semis.
