This very much strikes me as Big 3 driven "we don't want to faff about and wait until these young'uns get picked up domestically, hone their skills in the more traditional formats, and earn their way into the top side and then demonstrate their worth in T20s - we want to poach any talent directly into franchise teams"

The senior 50 over World Cup must be on borrowed time too when you consider that by the time tournaments actually come around, many of the players are just making it up on the fly considering they don’t play much 50 over cricket
