ICC Combined Associate and Affiliate (AM) XI v England. January 7-9, 2012

Swann is likely to get tonked from time to time due to the length he bowls. He's an attacking spinner.

Anyway, pitch does seem to be a total road atm.

Have to say 257/8 from 90/6 is an impressive recovery/disappointing failure to finish off the job depending on one's bias.

Comes with the standard disclaimer that I haven't seen a ball, but if a chap with a career FC average of <8 can muster a best ever score it does suggest we're looking at some concrete for the tests.

We let Western Australia make runs in our first tour game before the Ashes. IIRC that series turned out fine.

Obviously we're playing to win but the result isn't as important as the practice.
Pretty sure you're Scottish and should be supporting the Associates team, bro.

Western Australia are a better team than the one we fielded for the Ashes though.

Not Terrible
Anyone else think that no Kenyans is a pretty damning testament to where Kenyan cricket is right now?

When I tried to make an ICC XI for this match when it was announced months ago I really struggled to think of Kenyans that deserved to be in the team. Odoyo maybe? Afghanistan and Namibia have well and truly leap frogged them.

Must admit I hadn't realised Viljoen's FC batting record was so modest either.

Any relation to Colin? Ex-Ipswich Town stalwart.

Mr. Glass
Haven't read the whole thread and I am posting from the first page(mobile sucks):

Why isn't Prior playing?

Do these blokes both speak English? I know English is an official language in Namibia, but Christi Viljoen attended "Oos Moot Hoerskool", which google tells me is in "Suid-Afrika"... which makes me wonder, for people viewing the stream, are there any communication limitations between the two? Do they converse at the end of each over?
