ok - on a more serious note.........this is just a general observation to everyone regarding the recent / current tone of posts on a lot of threads.........

it seems to me that while the legendary "terrace element" may be an endangered species so far as grandios claims re players are concerned, we now have a different type of "terrace element" creeping in...........

it is my observation that there appears to be a lot more 'aggro' creeping in to a lot of posts & threads..........this includes many knee jerk reactions resulting in abusive posts of a more personal nature.........and that these often appear to initiate a flame war that has little to do with the thread and infact can 'take over' the thread........

snide remarks, general condecending comments regarding a post or the author's competence etc........the increasing use of more colourful & personal adjectives, & the lack of reason behind many responses - just a condemnation without justification.........

it's not cricket damnit!!!!!

IMO some people need to develop a thicker skin, as not everything posted is intended as a personal attack. Similarly others need to count to ten & READ what has been posted b4 firing off a salvo of abuse in response.....

furthermore if this is any indication as to people's reactions to life situations, then I wonder not that some may find it all a bit of a battle & struggle...........

grow up and act your age - not your shoe size, & develop some life / communications skills............

I enjoy a good informative debate as much as anyone - after all we are here to share our views / knowledge re our love of the game, but I am despairing at where we are heading at the moment..............

regards..........

Haha! I was going to say that!

I do agree with you though - I suspect that the conduct of some users reflects their age somewhat... :!(

Craig - it's not your place to name names. Your not exactly a saint yourself.

All forum members take note: no flame wars will be tolerated. Far too much niggle and bickering has been taking place of late (I won't name names, those people know who they are).

I'm asking here if we can all pull ourselves into line - the forum is a far more enjoyable place when we can sit back and relax rather than everything being a constant battle.

For those of you who consistently behave, I thank you. Your contribution is noticed and valued.

No one is above the law at Cricket Web - each person is expected to behave accordingly, whether it be James, myself, any staff member or the newest forum member.

Please take this on board :)
