I think Virat Kohli and Joe Root will break both Sachin Tendulkar's records...

Umm, for Kohli to beat Tendulker he would need around 100 more ODI's. It's taken Kohli 6 years to play his last 100 so is Kohli going to still be playing when he's 41?

The way he has played in this year....then he can get there by the next ODI World Cup...

Given that Tendulkar has only longevity records, if those go, he will lose much of the shine his fanboys yell about.

But still it's a remarkable achievable considering it's the records for both ODI's and Tests...Although Virat Kohli might break his ODI record for most runs...but in Tests it kind of seems very difficult..

We should also appreciate Virat Kohli for having the record for most T20i runs as of now...

In Tests, it's Joe Root's who has realistic chances of doing so...and looks quite possible....at some point they were discussing how Alastair Cook might get there...but he retired when he could have played more test cricket..anyways...I will be following Joe Root's progress in Tests from now on..

Kohli breaking the ODI runs record seems unlikely as, like others have stated, there are relatively few played these days. As for Root in Tests, that feels like more of a possibility but people were saying the same about Cook circa 2014-2015 and he didn't get close. I'd like to see Root get a lot closer before really starting speculating.

Didn’t they say the same about Cook, Graeme Smith, and Ponting lol. Root won’t get close.

Kohli could break the 100 hundreds record tho

The way ODIs are going there might not be 100 more ODIs

As far as I can tell India have only 3 ODI's in next 6 months. How many before next WC, definitely not the 100 needed to overtake Tendulker (and that's assuming Kohli doesn't lose ODI form when he's 40 lol)
