I hope its just a coincidence

Who knows for sure which game was fixed?

All that one can say is that some teams and some players have a very dubious record in these matters which makes any 'strange' result a bit 'suspect' if that plaer and/or team is involved. Rest is pure conjecture.

As an Indian fan (and a huge supporter of sub-continental cricket) my concern is only that such things are known to be happening on our soild, that our players, ex players and other citizens have been known to be involved in such things and that bothers me.

Thats bad enough. After that which match was won fairly and which lost due to possible 'rigging' loses significance.

We, in the subcontinent, need to worry about the menace of match fixing and even more so, the huge space under the carpets that the authorities use for 'housekeeping', rather than the 'ego massage' of our-team-could-only-have-lost-it-if-it-was-fixed.

As if somehow a fixed match is lesser shame than a poor performance.
Yeah, what Akhil said. Absolutely.

I know its like opening an old can of beans but to me it seems little a strange.

S.Waugh in his book has mentioned Mushtaq Muhammad and Mushtaq Ahmed as two people who at different times offered the Aussies to throw matches for money.
Mushtaq Muhammad never offered Australia to throw away match for money,he just asked the Allan Border in 1993 "What would u do if someone offers you to throw away a match for money?",which doesn't prove that he offered them to fix a match.I think Border probably misunderstood or something because it seems strange that someone would like to directly get invloved in match fixing more than 15 years after his retirement from cricket.

Mushtaq Ahmed has always been suspicious & several times accused of being involved in match fixing but when did he offer the Australians to fix a match for money?

I totally agree.

Border is an idiot. Why couldnt he have known that Mushtaq was conducting an international survey on How captains of cricket teams respond to offers of money to throw away matches.

In India an industrialist went to a politician and said "Sir, I have this problem import of my plant and machinery and I was wondering if you could help me out. By the way, Sir, I believe you are building a house in the suburbs. I have a cousin of mine who is sitting on acres of land which is absolutely of know use to him. He is planning to give it away to a charity and I told him, charity begins at home. You are like family to us Sir."
