I feel more sorry for Younis. He's the only one that appears to me to not be a ****.

It just shows that Pakistan don't pick proper players. Imran Nazir, Mohammad Hafeez, Younis Khan, Danish Kaneria and Azhar Mahmood are not ODI standard players. And Rana Naved, Rao Iftikhar and Mohammad Sami are generally poor international bowlers.
Harsh call on Younis Khan there. He's a quality player in both forms of the game. Obviously his average of 30 odd isn't the best, but I wouldn't call him 'Not ODI standard'.

i would drop him from one day side and make him the test side captain.
for one day Shoaib malike would be a good captain.
also i think there should be seprate one day and test teams.

it is hard to say who is better than younis as a player but certainly his record in one day shows he is a much better test player. he enjoys playing test cricket so why not keeping him in test matchs.

guys like salman butt, yasir hamid asim kamal bazid khan and soo on should be given a chance in one day stage one more time. it is thier time to step up.

quite honestly it didn't make sense to me why yasir hameed was drop from the team at the first place. Pakistan vs Zim match. hafiz would make a century and he would be in the team again for like three years while players like yasir hameed would be droped with no fair reasons.

He is definitely NOT a quality ODI player!
He averages less than 30 against teams other than Zimbabwe.
In 46 of his 127 completed ODI innings he has failed to reach 10. That means 36% of the time he fails to reach 10. That's less than 1 in 3. Too strict? Well in 70 of his 127 completed ODI innings he has failed to reach 20. So 55% of the time he fails to reach 20.

He has 2 ODI hundreds in 145 ODI innings. One of those - his highest ODI score - came against Hong Kong - 144.

Younis averages 49.85 (349 runs in 10 innings) against Bangladesh, with all of those innings coming before 2005, when it's easy to argue that Bangladesh was far from the side of present day. He averages 27.57 against sides other than Zimbabwe, Hong Kong and Bangladesh with 1 hundred and 18 fifties in 124 innings.

He has 176 runs in 5 innings combined (44 avge) against Kenya-Scotland-Ireland-Namibia combined. So take out all minnows and he averages 26.95.

Please, do tell in what way Younis Khan is at all possibly a quality ODI player. He's a poor ODI batsman. He simply is.

Who else is better than Younis at ODI level?
Yasir Hameed. Heck, even Salman Butt looks a more promising ODI player than Younis Khan. Younis Khan is still better than Imran Nazir, but Nazir would be criticized in a Zimbabwe shirt, which goes to show that he is far from worthy of playing for Pakistan.

Fair enough, you have convinced me. However, the new question is: Who is good enough to replace him?
there is alot of players who can place his one day position. he plays one down position shoaib malik is much better one down player since Ijaz Ahmad. he could play in that position with salman butt and yasir hameed opening the inniggs. i don't think we need hafeez any where in pakistan team ( at least the one day side). i would be happy to see him droped.

Why isn't Mohammed Yousuf being considered for captaincy? He seems to have a pretty good temperament, and perhaps other than Umar Gul, is the only certainly in Pak's starting XI.

If Hafeez is going to play, he needs to play as a bowler who bats. ie, he needs to bat after the top 7. He's a reasonable ODI bowler, and a far better option than Danish Kaneria.

Hell do I feel so sorry for Inzamam. What with his coach passing away, Pakistan getting knocked out so early, and this being his last World Cup.

I think Pakistanis should be happy to see Inzi leave cricket or OD cricket.

He was the crappiest skipper ever to have led an international side.

A coward, a real selfish one, who refused to bat up the order to rescue his side from disaster.

A nightmarish figure in world cup, his last two WC (2003 & 2007) were both nightmarish as far as his personal performance is concerned.

Time for Pak selectors to dump fatso
well harsh!
