I dont like Bazball

We won't lose in New Zealand, Also we are at the learning stage. A loss is big but we will be better

The Ashes is what we want. Playing Bazball in Australia and winning the series 5-0 is what dreams are made of and with every test this will be very possible

Eh I'm feeling churlish but I'll switch off if tests become extended t20. It's not a sport at that stage it's just a marvel movie.

T20 is less interesting because it's contrived towards a certain style of play and result. I'll just have to hope rugby survives the incoming head injury stuff.

Women's t20 is far more interesting than men's, and women's odi is like odis of my childhood so it's probably my favourite white ball cricket atm.

England are box office. It's past midnight my time and I'm still watching. I wasn't yesterday and I won't be this time tomorrow. No disrespect to Henry Nicholls.

As someone who has watched (and played, albeit at a very lowly level) this wonderful game with a passion since my father took me to see Graeme Pollock flay the Kent attack to all parts of the St Lawrence Ground, lime tree and all, in 1965 (Link), I find England's current 'no backward step' approach to test cricket very refreshing.

There are going to be times when it falls apart at the seams - the big test of character for the side (and the management/coaching team) is going to be the game after it does just that.

Indeed, and it did fall over in that one match vs SA early on, but it's annoying when people call it slogging, because the approach is actually more measured than that, it's a case of knowing when to absorb pressure for a time, and as soon as that's been done it's relentlessly putting that pressure back onto the opposition.

Is that now 11 out of 12 wins under Stokes and McCullum or 10 out of 11?

Eng don't stand a chance if the wickets turn (big) like last time! Their only win was on a belter batting first, that too with Root in ungodly form & India without Jadeja/Umesh/Axar/Shami et al. They avg barely around 150 post that in 7 innings!

I mean Tests with faster runs aren’t just an extended T20 are they.

If Tests become fast scoring with totals going up despite no change in conditions/bowling strength, then what the **** have cricketers exposed to LO been doing for decades defending and leaving everything like idiots?

If it's just faster scoring with the same totals then I don't see any issues. You can bat however you want. If there's a good spell, see it out. Southee is going at < 3rpo today. If some noob is on show them no respect.
