"I believe in Jeetan Patel"
Nah no one 'needs' a doosra. If you can bowl it then great but it's not a requirement to become a class spinner. He's not a bad spinner - he needs a doosra though.
Jason krejza bowls khawaja with Doosra - YouTubeTrying to bowl it would be far more detrimental to his success than being one-dimensional. With an action like his, bowling a doosra without a substantial change is nigh on impossible. Hence why there is virtually no one who bowls a doosra AND has a 'classical' action.
Basically, bowling a doosra is ****ing difficult, practically everyone who bowls it chucks it and it has a pretty major impact on your ability to bowl your stock delivery too. Just not worth it for Jeets imo.
Nah he couldn't have been. He just had the aggression aspect of spin bowling. His response to getting hit for six was just launch it higher and higher. On his day he could look like the best in the world, but he plays Russian roulette for a living.Krejza is pretty much the perfect example actually. Why is he mucking around bowling a doosra when he's so inconsistent with his stock ball? That **** could have been anything.
Agreed that Krejza's over aggressiveness was as much of an issue as it was a weapon. Still think he could have been awesome though. If he'd been able to rein in his instinct to keep tossing it up more and more and been (quite) a bit more consistent I have no doubt he'd have done far better.Nah he couldn't have been. Jeets, on the other hand, has a very poor trajectory and won't trouble many batting line ups in the long term. Good effort to get some reward in India though, no doubt.
Agreed. He should be an automatic selection in the subcontinent with Vettori playing as an all rounder. In england Australia and SA, I doubt he'd be that effective.
