Can I ask why gags against Islam are unacceptible whilst gags about any other religion or ethnicity are deemed okay? Has the nanny state invaded CricketWeb? Is Sue Bradfield (sic. or maybe ) going to come and arrest me every time I verbally bitch-slap one of you guys?
Because Christianity is a wussy religion where noone has strong feelings about anything imo.

ITBT the more advanced we've got and the more we've learned about our past our need for religion is insignificant but for some reason people refuse to except that it's all fake. No offense to them. If there is a god (Which I'm 50/50 on) He wouldn't want people put in jail because someone named a teddy bear after him.

Steds banning is well deserved IMO. I read what he posted and it didn't look like any attempt at humour.

I've got a novel way to solve the feuding problem on CW. Give anyone involved in a feud, and I mean anyone a temporary ban and see if they calm the **** down. Bet it will work. Worked on Blackman after all. And that man is a unit.

Even if that were true - which it isn't - the answer hardly needs spelling-out. Islam has been demonised in a way no other religion has been, more so than ever due to incidents of late, and so I tend to find bad gags about them even more stupid than bad gags about other religions.

It goes without saying that none are acceptible, though. I myself spoke out against one such case regarding Christianity, a religion I've had more than a little reason down the years to feel dubious about.

Yeah, worked so well he's posted once in the last 6 months...

I agree with that. Not enough bannings going on; moderators seem to either be unwilling, unable or not around enough to exert control to prevent some of the mud slinging that goes on here. If that means temporarily banning respected and long standing members in aid of reducing the occurrances of these feuds then so be it. .

Despot Heath is more than willing to terminate some memberships here with extreme prejudice if so required.

Maybe you should get to know him a bit better then. There's absolutely no way in a million years he was being Islamophobic\xenophobic\racist there. You've no authority whatsoever to make a claim like that, given that plenty of people who do know him well have stated the opposite about 7 or 8 times already.

Someone's track record is irrelevant though Richard. If someone is offended by another comment, then they are offended. If someone didn't think there was any attempt at humour, then THAT IS A VALID POINT. A comment is only as offensive or inoffensive as other people judge it, not on how 'people know him to be'.

If I said Dean Jones or Ron Atkinson was a thoroughly bloody nice bloke and was never a racist in my knowledge of them, would that make the comments that they said on air any less offensive? NO it bloody wouldn't.

Of course it wouldn't. Not once did I comment on the offensiveness of the post, because offensiveness is not a case of is\isn't but a case of interpretation.

What I commented on was whether the post was in jest or in seriousness or not. Which it patently wasn't, any fool who knows Bennett can see that. It's outrageous, frankly, to suggest otherwise and smacks of trying, yes, to stir trouble.
