Not really sure. Just went on a horror run. Exactly the same squad that was league runners up, CL Semi Finalists, FA Cup winners and League Cup runners up. Plus Wilshere's been fully abavailable. RVP getting injured the only excuse.
Were there two League cups that season?
No, why?

Anyway, have since gone on a good run and am up to 7th. 6 points off 4th. Having beaten Liverpool, City, Chelsea and Tottenham (the top 4)

Just made it to Icon status at Arsenal. Finally. Just finding these regens the toughest part of the game. Not having players you know and can fall back on blows.

I find that you just need to recruit about 4-5 new decent ones every year. Some will inevitably fail to live up to their potential, but if you can do that you can get a decent conveyor belt of talent going, especially if you have all your facilities upgraded to the max etc...

Just send a load of scouts over to monitor Argentina and Brazil imo, there are inevitably 3-4 insanely good players that appear every year.

Kind of ruins it for me when you start to get regens, some of them are just stupidly good,
It kind of ruins it for me as well, as I find it hard to immerse myself in a world which increasingly begins to lack any connection with reality. But at the same time, it's sometimes enjoyable and rewarding to bring through some of your own young lads, rather than relying on real players who you already know will turn out to be good.

Not a lot to get excited about here imo. The bit about players considering how their wages will be taxed sounds positively monotonous.

Dunno if I cbf with that tbh. You could always create a challenge mode for yourself on earlier versions just by setting yourself a goal and adding a new manager to an existing game.

It's not a bad addition I suppose, but it's not enough to make me want to buy it again after last year's.

Updated the transfers and started a new save with Southampton the other day. They apparently have a sugar daddy because the board gave me a 40mil budget increase shortly after the window closed, wtf. The only players I'd signed in time were Del Piero, Materazzi, Zambrotta and Riquelme, all on free transfers.

Well, come December and I was actually 9th on the table thanks to my signings (and Gaston Ramirez being an absolute legend). Noticed Tevez, Mascherano and Llorente having absolute moans at their clubs - Tevez hated Mancini, Mascherano was actually transfer listed by Barcelona (what the ****!?) and Llorente announced he was leaving on a free transfer when his contract expired. Spent the next month hounding them in the media until I had 25mil, 17mil and 6mil bids accepted for them, all on 48 month installments. Eventually finished 6th.

I did do a double take on all of these things happening, but the straw that broke the camel's back was Billy Sharp, who was on loan at Forest all season, rejecting a transfer there because he didn't want to miss out on the chance to play in the Europa League.

**** this stupid game, I'll come back next year.
