Just won league 1 with Sheffield Wednesday on Football manger 2005. 100 points and 99 goals but expecting a harder season in the championship.

that could go quite a long way in that division though, just buy carefully and you shouldnt struggle too much.
Exactly. Plenty of freebies about around summertime.

Installed Football Manager (2006) this morning. Bought it when it first came out but never got round to playing it. Spent the best part of the day on the editor, doing the transfers, international retirements, team names et cetera. Had the desire to take over Crvena Zvezda, first course of business so far is trying to bring in Elano of Shakhtar Donetsk and Rolan Gusev of CSKA Moskva in. We update on my progress...

Pretty sure you could have downloaded an update for FM2006.
Got all the official ones (with data) but the unofficial ones I could not be arsed with. Considering most of them are incorrect.

The one i use for CM01-02 is pretty good, and that's with 4-5 years worth to update :p

i find whenever i feel like that i just leave it for a month or so, and then go back to it and try with a new club, then you get into it once more, and realise how great it is all over again....

then repeat this patten again and again...

That's what I've done. Still haven't touched the 9k. Brought in about 6 or so new players who should do fairly well. But looking at the other squads doesn't look too good. Might have to go against my philosophy and go defensive in some games. Midtable is my hope. Maybe a decent cup run too.

Left my glory hunting game with Inter to take on a struggling Valencia team and I think my game is on cocaine or some other drug, because Sevilla winger Jeses Navas for some reason has a 10m pound buy-out clause, so when I activate it he won't join then has a sulk because the manager accepted it. Trying to buy that young Russian goal keeper from CSKA Moscow, but he isn't keen to join (why would he want to stay in Moscow then live in sunny Valencia?), and Sergio Ramos who has ended up back at Sevilla, but will join me, or Atletico Madrid or Barcelona because his 12.5m pound buy-out clause has also been activated. Like WTF?

Cristiano Ronaldo ended up at Barcelona for 30m, but Barcelona gave him a 35m buy out clause and so then he has ended up at Chelsea. If you think that is odd, on my friend's game, Barca also got Ronaldo for the same price but gave him a 27m buy-out clause, this I'm not joking on.

At least I'm getting Francesco Totti on a bargin rate (signed him for Inter), he is 32 but he is still good.

On my Man Utd game on FM, I'm first in the league, into the second round of the CL, into the second leg of the LC semis against Chelsea after the first leg was tied 2 each and into the 4th round of the FA Cup as well. Won teh Club World Championship and teh Euro Super Cup but lost to Chelsea in the Community Shield. In the January window which is soon to close bought Alberto Aquilani for 23m to be my midfield general. Injured atm though.

Anyway first team at this point:

VDS

Neville Ferdinand Agger Heinze

Hargreaves

Ronaldo Giggs

Scholes

RVN Rooney

Rest of the squad reads Howard, Vidic, G Johnson, O'Shea, Keane, Flecther, Walcott, Aquilani, Rossi, Smith, Mikel and E Johnson. will be looking to get rid of a few of those in the summer.
