An early attempt to use 'stock footage' to cover up for lack of actual footage. The MCC play NSW, with very obvious shots from not the match spliced in due to lack of a lens long enough to capture the action well. We do get to see Woolley being bowled by Alan Fairfax though.

Joe Hardstaff (jnr) scores a double century against India in the opening match of the 1946 series.

Colour footage from the Lord's test in 1964. I reckon cricket looks a lot more familiar and modern in colour. Neil Hawke's bowling is all shoulder.

The '64 Ashes opens as Boycott and... uh... Titmus walk out to bat. McKenzie opens displaying all the bowling aesthetic so lacking from the modern game. Titmus and Hawke make slight contact.

More from the same match. O'Neill hits long hop from Trueman for six. Check out Trueman running out Booth for nought. Both of the Worcestershire opening attack appear, Flavell hits Simpson in the sensitive areas. Rain would take half the playing time and prevent a result to an intriguing but quality lacking match.

Just remembered that Boycott was on debut this match.

A match at Lord's in 1943 between Pelham Warner's XI and the RAAF. There's also another film of this match somewhere that has a very young Trevor Bailey bowling.

Near the end of the second test in 1946. Includes one test player Fred Freer.

Compton and Edrich score centuries then Mitchell and Melville open the batting for South Africa. Unfortunately only one defensive prod from Mitchell, but Melville's cover drive is poetry in motion.

The commentator is annoyingly gushing, but Pollock's stroke play is still awesome.

Nasim-ul-Ghani scores the first century by a nightwatchman and the first by a Pakistani in England.

Pakistan, needing only 159 to beat Australia, collapse for 106 at Sydney in 1973. Max Walker takes 6/15 with his giant in swingers.
