Has the trade deadline now passed?

I understand what your saying, BUT Rich did say that if the deadline had passed then don't worry...

Now as for the deadline, it was clearly stated that everyone would have 1 week, now some people left it right to the last minute to start trading, now i don't think its fair on the guys who did obey the rules to keep it open for another night...

1 more issue which stops me from keeping it open till 2nite is the people who will not be on between now and then will miss out on the final opportunity cause they all believe that the deadline has passed...

Unfortunatley seeing as though i cannot speak to all my board members between now and your proposed close time i will have to disallow it...

I disagree Sriram. GB let us all know the deadline in his email to us. Give an inch take a mile. Consistency is a must, so I say GB is right to rule as he has.

all the trades were posted BEFORE u closed the thread though m8. don't u think that's a little bit unfair?? also pls read my PM.

If GB doesn't stick to deadlines, then we'll always have this problem.
It's up to managers to read GB's communications and keep in touch with what's being discussed on the forum.

Yes the trades were posted before the thread closed but that is because i was not home to close the thread, and then when i did come to do it this morning my pc went haywire and i couldn't access windows without some fixing..

The ruling will stand to be fair to all...

GB or Rich not closing the thread is no excuse to use for not meeting deadlines. We all had GB's communication.

I haven't seen your PM Cloete, but to be honest, I'm sticking to agreeing with GB's decision.
Having been part of WCC since it's inception, I've seen the problems that have arisen from GB giving allowances.
GB now has a zero tolerance policy when it comes to meeting deadlines and the competition is much better off for it.

ok well:

I didn't submit my 5th and 6th draft picks as I have been offline from Sunday till Wednesday (as it was i didn't go on till thursday cause it must have been back up after 10PM) as my internet was cut off. and when i returned the squad profiles thread was up. so i looked in that and it told me who i got from the 5th and 6th round. and for some reason the 5th and 6th draft picks topic didn't appear as new. so there was no point in me reading it. when the internet was finally back up i asked a few ppl and they all said it was either sunday or they didn't know!! even rich didn't know. so u can't say we were that well informed. even less for me. think wat u like. i don't think i had much chance of knowing the transfer deadline.

I agree with his zero tolerance policy but u have also got to consider how much a bit of relaxation of the deadline would affect ppl.As for closing the thread last time around GB had asked someelse on his behalf to close the thread (or atleast make a post saying trade had closed.)

I still think there shud be a discussion with other board members and votes shud decide whether ppl get to confirm trades completed a couple of hrs after the deadline.
Besides if we are starting the games a bit later in the week then theres no harm in having ppl trade.I have infact got 3 offers after the trades closed!!:)

To be honest, I've been aware of all deadlines. It just surprises me that some managers weren't. I don't wish to enter a protracted argument and I have no wish to make enemies, but I back GB 100% and I think we should all just get on with posting our sides for Round 1.

Another point : board members themselves being unaware of the deadline. This calls for a meeting Gb!the zero tolerance policy is accepted but a bit of flexibility where it doesnt affect ppl much is welcome anywhere.

HOW ON EARTH WAS I SUPPOSED TO KNOW THE 5TH AND 6TH DRAFT PICK THREAD(which didn't appear as new!) WOULD CONTAIN TRADE DEADLINES?? wouldn't it have been better to post a topic?? so i had ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA that the deadline was saturday!!!

His case seems valid since he would have asked board members.Whom else is he supposed to ask?!!

Mate there should be no problems the deadline was posted, now it couldn't have been that bad if some people saw it...

Flexibility has been given on many occasions like Graham has said and these things seem to happen more and more...

I fullfilled my duties by posting the deadlines, but some people didn't, by not reading them...

Cloete: After every round of the draft i posted at the bottom a list of things which needed to be done and any messages, And to go with that any thread which is topped, is there for a reason...
If you chose not to look at it then, only you can be responsible...
