Perfect example of where Furball's "one free shot" rule would be worthwhile.Great player as he is, I really hope the next person he tries this on with absolutely knocks his lights out.
That's disgusting. What a low life.
Shouldn't have thought so.Can players get club bans for on-pitch offences for their country?
Of course they can.Can players get club bans for on-pitch offences for their country?
I can't recall a single time it's ever happened. Can only think of drugs bans that have overlapped.Of course they can.
In this case Suarez should be looking at a ban of several months. Especially after his recent "I'm so misunderstood, waaah, I'm so ashamed that I'll need to explain this to my kids one day" bollocks that he spouted in the media.
Not sure it's ever happened but it should definitely be within their power, as the drug bans are testament to. I'd imagine without actually doing any research on it that they have the power to ban a player from playing in any competition organised by a member of FIFA.I can't recall a single time it's ever happened. Pretty sure there would be lawsuits galore should such things happen. I could be wrong, but.
What jurisdiction would they have for doing this though? Drug bans and things like match-fixing or some sort of off the field issue would almost certainly allow a transferable ban, but for something that occurred on field I wouldn't be so sure.Of course they can.

They're the worldwide governing body ffs.
There we go. I take it from that, that "sanctions" do not include suspensions, and so the prospect of FIFA banning Suarez from playing for Liverpool would seem to be extremely remote.Re Suarez bite, if found guilty, usually FIFA suspensions relate to national team but sanctions can be "all football related activity".
Gee, I wonder why.Uruguay coach Oscar Tabarez plays down the Luis Suarez incident and gets angry with the media when pressed on the issue.
"I'd like to see the images first before making any comment," he says. "If it happened, then the referee probably didn't see it.
"Despite mistakes (Suarez has made, he is the target of certain media, a certain press. It seems to me there's a certain animosity towards him."
