The benefits of being a pessimist...

I've the one very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very small consolation of Brumby and B*Witched.

Funny, though, how often you see waywardness. Being accurate ain't as easy as it seems.

TBF, it was good slower-ball bowling, both of them were just beaten by that.

The whole NZ attack has bowled good and accurately, the English batsmen have had to take risks, the pitch is not without it's tricks, and wickets have fallen.

Pretty good ODI bowling, if you ask me.
Yes, but a decent side would commit collective harikari if they folded from 133 for 3 to 138 for 7 with the sort of dismissals we've seen. NZ have bowled well for the most part but they're supposed to. Proper sides would not be in the position we're looking at now, and much of it is down to rank stupidity, unfortunately. I could live with it if Bond had ripped us to shreds with the new ball in the helpful conditions that were there at the start, but this is just embarassing.

Fair noof, I suppose...

I honestly just expect this sort of thing when you pick the Joyces, Vaughans, etc. Collingwood and KP can't save us every time.

We've just seen more of these sort of games than I care to remember in the last 7 years - it's long since ceased to be a surprise.

Maybe on the train journey home I can start to believe that Jimmy Anderson is gonna swing the kiwis to 84 ao.

Yup, we aint going to win a lot relying on two batsmen. And I did think we had a chance at 130 for 3 with PC & KP well set, which makes it worse in a way.

Hmmm. I'm probably way off as usual, but maybe just maybe we can sneak to 200 here, which wouldn't be a foregone conclusion

Its harakiri (腹切り) mate. Literally 'to cut the stomach' :D
