Yep, 2 goals in 3 games could well come back to haunt them - probably Germany next up now, with Argentina to follow.

Great stuff from the US. Great it was Donovan to score too - like the way he plays and seems to be a decent guy (also admit he's one of only a couple of US players would have recognised before the tournament).

That group is crazy. Any 2 of the 4 teams can go through. As long as you qualify, you will be happy from group D.

Yup - with all three of our unholy trinity missing gilt-edged chances.

Still, better than going out. They weren't great, but they were competent, which has to be progress. Milner looked very much like our best bet on the right. Upson looked 100% better than Carragher, which is hardly surprising given that he played alongside Terry in a fair few of the qualifiers iirc. No-one will be worrying about facing us though.
