Group B - Sri Lanka, India, Bangladesh, Bermuda

Nishant

International 12th Man
Who exactly is saying that? In fact, most on here even said Sehwag should be dropped regardless of how he does against Bermuda.
true...but knowing the indian selectors and the chapple/dravid combination...sehwag has secured his place for the next 10 ODIs at least!

Agarkar should be replaced for the SL game with someone, whether its Sree or Pathan I have no idea. He's bowling absolute crud.
Don't think they'll change anyone thou... surely Sreesanth couldn't bowl worse than the way agarkar is bowling right now. Plus last few matches Sreesanth has bowled economical spells.

Whatever it takes!!!
India's bowling attack of AA, Munaf, Zak and Bhajji will never bowl out oppositions cheaply too many times. None of them try to bowl genuinely aggressive stuff. Zak is the most aggressive of these guys but he doesn't have the variety in swing to pose serious problems once the shine has gone off. Kumble is a genuine wicket taker against the lesser sides but against the better ones, he has not been as effective in recent years in ODIs. Our best option as an attacking bowler is Sreesanth and I think he should have played the match against Bermuda. If you dont trust your best attacking option against a team like Bermuda, why take him to the WC at all?

Right so Munaf and Zaheer are certainties which leaves Sreesanth,Agarkar,Kumble and Harbhajan fighting for to places.IMO I would play Kumble and drop Agarkar for Sreesanth but that might quite rightfully be percieved as a huge gamble.

TBH all the Indian bowlers bowl pies...
As a fellow Sri Lankan I am perturbed by your over-confidance, Mate.

I hope you will be around tomorrow morning and Saturday when Indians may have an opportunity to give it all back to you ...

You're overly confident mate.. lets hope SL lose and i'll be right here to rub it in :p
If india lose than i'll go into hiding..
Agree , (as a fellow Sri Lankan) his over confidance is worrying ...or is he trying to Jinx our own Team out of the World Cup...

JBH001

International Regular
Agreed. That is what I said in the other thread, Jason.

Hopefully our mutual pessimism can counteract any jinxing! :D

Sounds like a good toss to win from what I've read, will be interesting to see if Sri Lanka can counter Bangladesh's gameplan.

Is today's winner through?

Actually thinking about it, my calculations suggest that the answer to my question is no, as all three teams could still end up with 6 points. Win for Bangladesh as good as sends them through though, and adds some extra spice to an already moutwatering India V Sri Lanka tie :)

Sorry if this has already been said

I'm following Cricinfo and the guy there said that the winner goes through. I was just about to ask how?
Bangs, I can see why.

Yea Bangladesh are through if they win because then only one other team other than them can finish on 2 wins, Sri Lanka would not be through if they win because that can create the 3 teams on 2 wins scenario.

Looks like Sri Lanka have gotten through the opening period with the ball moving around, I figure having your left arm batsmen in against the three left arm spinners could help in defeating Bangladesh, or at least in scoring quickly. Even better if they're as destructive as Jayasuriya obviously.

Tharanga departs.
