Out of interest, would you not be mad as a batsman if a ball is pitched on the grass and goes onto the keeper and the umpire doesn't call it a wide and you don't get the 1 run of a wide?
Yes, but that's really the extent of the gripe. It's a team sport and the decision was a crap decision, but the only thing it hurts is Dhoni's average. He (and everyone else) should just get over it.

What if the situation comes down to 1 run needed off 1 ball for Australia in this match?

But nothing will be done about it yet again - Should be docked an over for every over they were late in bowling IMO.
Didn't they use to do that until S Waugh (I think) complained it was only a punishment for the side bowling first. They fine/suspend captains now - both Ganguly and Smith have served bans for this offence.

Well I didn't see the situation live, but I presume then that they crossed during the appeal/dismissal?

Are you serious on this one Marc?

Come on. If there has been a worse umpiring decision in the history of cricket I'd like to hear about it. It was obviously not out. And the difference could be massive. If this game is a tie, it will be a massive difference given that they could have got a run off the last ball.

What a catch! Raina coming of some use to India by taking a great catch. Sreesanth starts the collapse. Gilchrist gone.

The crowd after being silent for about an hr has gone crazy!

What relevance does that have sorry?

You expect Indian fans to go against India? The crowd was pretty good to other countries when India wasn't playing so it isn't all bad

That can be avoided though - the team bowling second forfeits runs (I think it's 6 an over done in the English game for such a thing...)

Brian Lara facing Andy Bichel. He played an offdrive, inside edged the ball back onto his pad. Australia appealed. Venkat gave it out.

Or a leg bye...

Out of interest, did they try to run anything whilst the appeal was being dealt with?

Erm, the Indian crowds appreciate good cricket. However in a crucial match like this it is only natural for the crowd to go silent when the opposition team is dealing in boundaries.

It couldn't have been a leg bye, because he hit it. We're not talking about a drive with a little movement onto the back pad. We're talking here a cross batted swipe at about knee height with an inside edge that hit him on the toe. It couldn't have been more obvious that he hit it.

Yes, they ran.
