Are Jo & Fred really the best 2 options Brazil have to play in that position?
You really wonder why Brazil bother playing with a proper centre forward at all to be honest. Surely they'd be better off using one of their midfielders as a false nine or something. Fred and Jo are absolutely hopeless.

Anyway, Mexico excellent value for the draw here. Thoroughly deserved that.

Not a fan of this Brazil side at all. Can get over the fact that they're not great, but they're just so physical and ploddy. Wouldn't be sad to see them go out.

I certainly can't claim to understand positioning and the intricacies of certain formations all that well, but wouldn't they be better off with a formation similar to Germany's yesterday? Or do they not really have the personnel for it?
There's certainly a case for it IMO. Certainly would still have goals in them. Does limit the way you can play when you don't have a proper striker though.

Fred's being sold short here. He's actually played really well under Scolari and was top scorer at the Confed. cup. I think they missed a trick by not taking Coutinho and Lucas Moura; guys that are great 1v1 and don't just rely on speed or strength to get past players.

Most of the Cameroon players look like they'd rather be elsewhere. I seem to remember thinking the same at the last World Cup as well actually. They're just not interested.

Haha, Alex Song, you berk.
He obviously thinks he still playing for Arsenal a few years back, when they seemed better with 10-men. Long-way back for Cameroon now, he said in comm-mode.

Been a bit of a nightmare for African nations this tournament.

Most of the African teams were absolutely garbage at the last World Cup as well.

There is no way in hell Song would have done that if he was playing for Arsenal or Barcelona though. There's no shortage of decent African players, but they seemingly go into half-arsed/crap mode when they play in the World Cup.
