Group A - Australia, South Africa, Scotland, Holland

Just watched the Dutch innings on the replay now, jeez RTD gunned it. 13 fours and a six that got stuck on the roof, so good.

Pardon if this has been done before but, for Ryan ten Doeschate, what does the 'ten' mean?

I know in my most basic of Dutch that 'van' like 'von' in German means 'from'. Like Robin van Persie (from what region his family name comes from), so what does the 'ten' mean?

"Te" or "Ten" normally means "at", as in Scotland vs. Holland, at Basseterre.

In names, it's a posh version of "van". Come to think of it, we might have to start referring to him as R@D, rather than RTD :).

I was mildly shocked to hear the postmatch interviewer asking the Scottish captain whether the betting had decided the match, which I thought was rather brazen, however badly the jocks had performed.

Thankfully it turned out that the interviewer was Barry Richards enquiring about the lack of runs from the Scots' top 5.

Symonds to play, replacing Brad Hodge. Glad our selectors know what they are doing 8-)

Yeah, Hodge had to be the one to go. Sick of people defending players because of the state they come from, tbh. Surely the international side is more important?

Anyway, tonight should be awesome. Can't wait.

Drop Watson for Symonds. Instead the selectors insist on playing favourites.

Except they play different roles in the team. Dropping Watson weakens the bowling way too much, especially with Symonds coming back from injury. The team is much stronger with both Watson and Symonds as bowling options than just one of them, anyway.

Hodge has played very well and deserves another shot when there's room for him, but he had to be the one to go, unless Hayden got dropped form the top of the order.

Hayden nor Hodge deserve to be dropped. Watson has been given a free ride for far too long. Symonds is an all-rounder so him replacing Watson shouldn't affect team balance. If Symonds isnt fit enough to bowl why is he even playing? Why risk him this early in the tournament when he can be eased back into things against lesser teams like Ireland, Bangladesh, Kenya/England?
