Reparations for Spider Cam Gate earlier in the night.
Lol there's a legit gripe for India. I was just like huh? when it happened. Pisses me off, Spidercam adds practically nothing to the broadcast aside from the occasional funky angled replay / filler shot. It's not a massive improvement like going from a single camera to one at both ends, it's classic gimmick.

Yeah I can see why people are saying the law should be changed if you're bowled off a free hit (I agree with them, I think) but it definitely wasn't crap umpiring. Definitely not dead ball as the laws stand.
If the ***** aren’t changing the laws to negate runs scored when a perfectly good throw deflects off some treacherous ranga’s bat, they better not change them for this.

I don't get why people shouldn't get runs off bowled free hits if the fielding side is lazy enough to allow them.

Hopefully this is the last of Asif Ali for the tourney playing with him is a genuine 10 vs 11 scenario.

Nah, when the ball hits the stumps when bowled it can deflect away from fielders a very high speed. In this case third man maybe could have saved two but plenty of times it skeeters away from anyone. Normally when bowled the ball becomes dead when the wicket is broken, even if subsequently called a no-ball.

It rather shows how poorly thought out the free hit rule is, the stumps become pinball thingy for the batting side to help them get runs even if the batsman completely muffs it.

2 clutch performances last year and domestic performamces. There's just not many hitters around. It also seems they've set really low expectations for him i.e if he ****s off after hitting 2 sixes, it's like he's done his job. Which seldom happens anyway. Wasim Jr is better than him in every single way and I'd rather have Khushdil over him.
He's had years of failures, he averaged 14 in the PSL, hs 28, and whatever these clutch performances weren't in T20Is.

Sure he may be a strong hitter (maybe) but this is like England selecting Liam Plunkett as a specialist bat, or Australia Daniel Sams.

The point of free hits is total safety from being dismissed by most forms of dismissals save those allowed on no balls (namely run outs, hitting the ball twice and obstructing the field). Can it be crucial in some situations, sure, but that's like any other rare cricketing event that laws cover. Not sure why this is such a big issue just because it offends sensibilities.

Clutch performances were in t20I:

Both were in the last wc, and were the reason pak mad the semi's last WC in the first place. Not saying he should be in the team.

You missed the point. Not being dismissed and getting a reward for completely missing the ball (even with the body) and getting a lucky deflection are not equivalent. If it was dead, and a dot ball, that's fair, you're not out but missed your chance.

Often gets in the way of the view for the paying spectators in the stands too, incredibly annoying.

That's the power of free hits in LOI cricket. Like the ball isn't dead in that scenario, so should people just not run out of solidarity with people baffled with the concept?
How exactly is it "lazy" to allow runs off a deflection that no one expects and can go in literally any direction? Ridiculous post.
It's called game awareness. Ridiculous from you tbh to not expect it from players on the field.

You mean parochial. If the shoe was on the other foot...

I suppose we can drag up the Stokes deflection, to be frank my sympathies have always lain with NZ on that one.
