In fairness to Melbourne, this normal weather for every Sydney test match except for that one time it was 46

Lol Livingstone needs to bat in the top 3. Guys a weapon and other than Buttler is England's most destructive batsman imo

The other options are Jordan and Willey. Neither of whom are better.
Willey's borderline alright isn't he? In a limited way on an off night, anyway. If memory serves, he's good with the new ball but cannon fodder at the end of the innings. So just giving him four overs at the start may be the way to go.

Why are Kiwis always so sour, Volteh excluded? It’s embarrassing.

You’re top of the group and have a NRR teams give their left testicle for, and you’re all doom and gloom. You’d have to play at borderline alternatively abled level to miss the semis from here. Have some perspective Ffs

Yeah with the way things have turned out, even if they lose to England and no matter what happens in the England v Oz game, NZ should still advance if they beat Ireland and Sri Lanka.

Aye, Willey’s not bad. Counting against him is that his medium fast left armers are a bit similar to SCurran, and Woakes and Stokes seem preferred with the new ball.

I’ve said previously on here that I think Willey should be in the team, but instead of one of the batsmen. With Topley out our balance just doesn’t feel quite right – Wood is left as our only ‘banker’ on the bowling front, so we could do with surplus options so that if someone has an off day (like Woakes today) we aren’t obliged to keep bowling them. We’ve got more than enough batting depth to fit him in – Livingstone and Curran are currently wasted at 7 and 8 and Willey can bat anyway (would be seriously overqualified himself slotting in at 9).

What a mess england one day squad has become with this new coach and Butller as captain,.I have said before that Butler is too weak a personality to be captain.I have also said that apart from wood our bowling attack is one of the weakest in the one day game.Woakes is never a one day bowler.I am fast getting the hump with Stokes who plays like a parks player in 20/20,.this team needs a kick up the rear to stop their arrogance

The teams have made it fun. The competition structure itself leaves a lot to be desired imo. Having two games at the same ground scheduled so close together is ridiculous. If Game 1 is a close match , Game 2 can be delayed by an hour or so (ICC rules indicate that matches cannot be played within 30 minutes of each other ) , Also Melbourne has the Docklands Stadium which is a cricket stadium with a retractable roof. It is literally a 12 minute drive away from the MCG yet no matches are being held there despite everybody knowing the rain situation in Australia.
The lack of flexibility in the scheduling I think ICC could do far better.
