Here's a quick attempt at Surrey. Long tail, but I couldn't really justify Adam Hollioake instead of one of the bowlers.

Hobbs
Edrich
May (captain)
Barrington
Thorpe
Stewart (wk)
Lock
Laker
Arnold
Bedser, A.
Lohmann

Loader is maybe unlucky, but I don't really know a lot about him and Lohmann beyond their statistics. Loader probably benefited from bowling on Surrey's pitches in the 1950s, but who knows what sort of pitches Lohmann bowled on at the turn of the 20th century. Saqlain or Laker is a tough call. And Waqar is probably a better bet with the older ball than the guys I did include. But in the end I chose an all-English XI.

Lohmann should bat at 7, averaged 18 in an era where more than a fair few famous specialists averaged sub 25.

Sidat Wettamuni, Tharanga Paranavithana, Kaushal Silva, and Chamara Silva cannot find places despite being good bats.

NCC XI

Russell Arnold
Avishka Gunawardane
Kumar Sangakkara
Aravinda de Silva
Dinesh Chandimal
Naveed Nawaz
Hashan Tillekaratne
Upul Chandana
Farveez Maharoof
Rumesh Ratnayake
Lasith Malinga

This is a proper serious team. Batting genius of Sanga, Aravinda and Chandimal, big hitting of Avishka, dour boring play from Arnold and Tillekaratne all are there. Then Maharoof, Chandana and Ratnayake all can handle the bat and are very enterprising with the bat.

With bowling Malinga and Ratnayake are pacy, explosive, unconventional, while Maharoof offers the steady medium pace. Chandana is a pretty good leggie, while Arnold and de Silva are very tight with their off breaks.

Oh, and three fultime keepers who can share the gloves session by session in Sanga, Tillekaratne, and Chandimal.
