Since the thread title says "Greatest Wrestler" and not "Greatest worker in wrestling", you can't go past Kurt Angle, even if he's bat**** insane these days.

Soft spot for Bryan Danielsen and Christopher Daniels too. Honourable mentions to AJ Styles and Samoa Joe.

If you want wrestlers who had a huge influence on wrestling, Ricky Steamboat and Ric Flair are the names for you. The protagonists of the single greatest moment in wrestling, WMXX, obviously deserve a mention too.

Forgive me, but how can a 'sport' that is predetermined have 'best players'?

Well although it's all fake and the blood is fake and the weapons hardly touch it's a form of entertainment. So we're basically saying who's the best character.

nope, they keep small razor blades in their boots/pockets etc... then when the moment is right and nobody is looking they quickly slash their head then throw the blade out of the ring, usually at this point the camera will pan out or show a different shot, which is why its not the easiest thing to spot when its on tv, some wrestlers are less keen to cut themselves open like this, which is why you see some bleed more than others etc...

but the blood is 100% real, although not brought about by the wrestling moves etc.. themselves.

No, it just means they do it less these days. Usually only happens on PPV events or when someone gets a particularly brutal beatdown after a match or something. Apparently back in the 70's and early 80's they used to be doing it every night.
