The McGrath injury becomes part of the mythology - the timing right before the toss, the unusual manner of the injury and then Punter choosing to bowl because he thought the tornado earlier in the week would've roughed up the wicket, only for his McGrath-less attack to concede 400 in a day.

As an England fan, two favourite series of mine are the 2-1 victories vs SA in 1998 and 2004/5. Lots of momentum swings in both, and decided by two of the great but often forgotten modern innings by England players - Butcher's 116 at Headingley in a total of 230 (next HS 24*) and Tres smashing 180 in the second innings at the Wanderers.

1998 was a great series, you can add how with England 1-0 down, in the 3rd Test, you had Donald v Atherton and then Croft, Gough and Fraser survived 25 overs to scrape a draw. That set them up to win the last 2 Tests.

Quite good actually, although Australia in WI 1995 and India's last win in Oz should be included along with some more Ashes wins

NZ in India recently is arguably the worst of cricket that I've watched till now. And I've been following cricket since Sharjah games in 1999.

It's not that we never had any crappy lows, 4-0 loss to England after the world cup did hurt but at least as a fan you did get to see England's best bowling lineup making the ball do things with Dravid in god mode one last time. The brain dead captaincy from Rohit and the complete technical ineptness of our batsmen in handling the turning ball makes our lot from 2011-2012 period look significantly better.

Nothing against NZ here, if I were a kiwi I would find it hard to process this amazing achievement too!
