No he wasn't a great captain, but he was a solid enough captain (if not controversial one with his declaration at Queens Park Oval against England) that if his allround skills didn't already make him superior to Flintoff and Pollock, he was a better captain than them surely.

Well Pollock was 14/26 including his last 5 in a row.

Makes his dropping look a bit suspect in retrospect, considering he had to pick up the reins after the Cronje debacle.

He was dropped because he couldn't count tbh. Obviously the 2003 World Cup shambles and duckworth lewis mess on home soil was a bridge too far for the selectors.

Yeah he took the rap for that. Pity all the coaches on their laptops in the changeroom couldn't count either

Lol, it is one of the more weirder things I've ever witnessed in my time watching cricket. Was beyond words.

If it happened to a prick it'd have been hilarious. But Pollock is such a nice chap, felt very bad for him.

It was still kind of amusing though

Meh,Saffies are all pricks though. Kind of like the poms.

As if it wasn't funny to see all the distress in the South African camp afterwards
