The local newspaper merely quoted the chief minister :-

"Sourav received a boost when state chief minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee said in Siliguri that he is a 'victim of gross injustice' "

Where is the newspapers projecting him as a victim ??

The fact that every second newspaper article is showing why the setence shouldnt have been there and no remark has been made in any to say it was gangul's fault for the slow over rate.

Regarding Sehwag, fact is he wasnt as important to India around 4 years ago as he is now and the match they were slated to play was an unofficial one.

Nothing as of yet. But if tomorrow If lets say Vaughan does the same, he shouldn't get 1 match suspension or let off by the match ref.

Not Fact, but figment of your imagination. Please quote those articles, I just looked at TOI, HT, Indian Express, Hindu, Statement & Rediff. And guess what hardly any article supporting Ganguly's act. So please support your claim by posting every second articles from the newspapers you have been reading,

There were so many things going on in that test match, India didn't know that the match was un-official until the game was started.It was because of this confusion Sehwag had to sit out of that match as well as the next match and that is a fact. As for Sehwag Not being important in that series, Guess who had the best batting average after Sachin in that series ??

Good point. But I think Ganguly deserves it to an extent because he's gotten away with this before and it's going to add up.

Ganguly has never gotten away with it. He has always been fined his match fee. The fact that he or his team hasn't learnt despite all that justifies this punishment.

It would depend on a number of things - the time over the allowed limit, the number of times he does it after warnings etc.
