Ganguly on Akhter!!!!!!

i know this whole topic has been discussed to the death but i just read an article which gives a different spin on the issue and demonstrates how the media can take a phrase out of contest and use it for negative publicity.
Actually that's not true and to blame the media for it is totally absurd.

Ganguly TWICE came up with a statement that everyone have seen Akhter on TV so everyone knows the truth. The second time he was asked about Akhter's action by a journalist.More importantly the ICC match refree took notice of Ganguly's statement and gave him the warning after which ganguly kept his mouth shut on that issue.

Akhter approach Ganguly for clairification and Ganguly blamed the media for it, something very common these days.

Ganguly obviously played mind games, i can't say as to how much he was successful, though Akhter was indeed out of sorts in the series.

they are professionals and i dont think such reports effect them at all

with bloody good reason too....

mate, give me a break. If i came up with that explanation then you can have a go at me but it is the media(this article) that is blaming the media for that report so you have to take it up with them. Anyway do you for a fact (i mean did you see it on the tele) that it is not true.

I dont see toomuch into it cos i think its the latest fashion these days for the match officials to have a go at ganguly due to his so called "arrogant image". Bucknor springs to mind but i wont get into it.

It does, if not then mind games would have been a rather new term in sports world today!

As i said earlier, Gangul's SECOND statement was in response to a journalist asking about Akhter's action, so i dn't see how it was a good reason.

I'm not after you mate. That article is just based on what Ganguly said to Akhter, something very convienient.

That is hardly true, Ganguly was lucky to have got away from critisizing ICC for overrates when he could easily have been banned for 1-2 test match. Ganguly's arrogance has nothing to do with it, the MR (a respected former SL player) warned Ganguly on his statement on Akhter as by doing so Ganguly was actually challening the ICC!

GIVE GANGULY A BREAK!
he's never liked the media and the media's never liked him.
so, since he used to blame every bloody thing on'em, they're having a go at him!
and mindgames....if a dubious comment like the one made by ganguly (which did not even directly SAY anything) got shoaib worried...then he would never have been the world class player that he is today!
and can u really trust the media...if your answer's YES, then u also hav to believe that lincoln died 5 times in a period of 3 yrs (WOW! what fantastic facts)

i doubt it. If any it can only pump up the opposition. I cant imagine Akhtar going ....."Ganguly has commented on my action so i have to be extra careful next time i bowl".......... i just dont see how it would effect the opposition in a negative way.

As i said earlier, Gangul's SECOND statement was in response to a journalist asking about Akhter's action, so i dn't see how it was a good reason.
this was in reply to your comment "something very common these days".
the reports these days are so se_xed up and fictiuos that players have no choice to blame the media for it.

this only adds to what i have been saying about officials having their way when it comes to ganguly. the man made a comment that is very vague and subjective and the next thing he gets a warning from MR. Why did the MR choose to look at it the negative way?......i know, cos its ganguly and he only responds in negative ways, forget what he actually meant when he made the statement.

That is hardly true
i guess you choose to live in denial when it comes to ganguly. Anyway why cant the captain of a test playing nation have a say when a new law is put out(especially when something is as ridiculous as this)

a respected former SL player
that means nothing when it comes to ganguly. clive lloyd is respected too and he dosent have his head in the right place either
