UAE - Oman
Ouch. R_Powell_fan will have your neck on toast for this one.

Try Australia - New Zealand as well, shall we? ;)

Oman is a sovereign nation! :)

Blewy,

I know you sent an email to Greg, he was a bit confused about it all, but I know he is keen, and I'm pretty sure he'll be a regular. If you need to get in contact with him, just let me know.

I was thinking that it could be club sides from emerging nations like:

Canada - Ontario
Kenya - Nairobi Gymkhana
Ireland - Munster
Scotland - Aberdeenshire
Singapore - Singapore CC
Netherlands - Excelsior
Oman - Oman
USA - New York
Namibia - just Namibia
Bangladesh - Dhaka

These are all existing club sides within these countries (except Namibia).
blewy, when i suggested the name idea to you, this is exactly what i ment. Having teams from toronto, chicago etc.....

Ok a couple of things...

1/ It seems as though option 3 is the most popular, i was thinking in addition to the team name we could show that the players are not officially from that region by calling them then New York Invitational XI etc...

2/ Mr W, I recieved an application from Greg and have it here with me, He will be one of the people who control a team...

Another good idea for the naming of these sides might be to name them after retired greats, eg. Bradman XI.

The following could be used.

Bradman, Hammond, Sobers, Gavaskar, Imran Khan, Hadlee, de Silva, Flower, Pollock, Border, Worrell

Just another option.

Of for number 3, you could use clubs like Lashings or Accrington from England or some well known club from any particlular country.

You could try the Hollywood Cricket Club from LA.
