May did better in Australia and had far far tougher home conditions, almost inhumane home conditions while Windies was very flat.

May's away record is overhated
I think he's comparable with Walcott when you account for the fact Clyde touring a modest India and May touring a tough SAF is pretty much the sole reason why Walcott has a moderately better away average. May did better in Australia and while both were pillars at home, May did it in vastly tougher conditions.

I would probably still go with Walcott as he's a bit of a favourite of mine and 5 hundreds in a single series against an elite attack is outrageous and he was repeatedly the go to man when the pitches (or at least the situations) got tougher in that series and the one at home to a good England side where he again went massive. But I'd have them in the same tier.

Think he's better than De Villiers in Australia and was decent in Windies, sadly in his second windies tour he got abscess, had to go home and retired right in the next Ashes at just 31/32, averaged 49 before the ascess.
