Well in a way your right since the Ashes is coming up you won't want him to risk an injury. But on the other hand if Freddie feels he can bowl let him since he may go into the Ashes having just bowled in a few warm-up games & that wont be totally good bowling preparation going into the Ashes IMO, getting a few overs at the competitive international level would be better since England need his bowling at 100%.BoyBrumby said:Entirely pointless risk IMHO.
Yes, wrap him up in cotton wool and only let him out every 2 years for the Ashes.BoyBrumby said:Entirely pointless risk IMHO.

I don't think Freddie is an all-time legend yet, but how exactly does Englands dependence on him prove hes not?Arjun said:Could bowl? He HAS TO bowl!
This England team is woefully lacking in balance. None of the batsmen can bowl. None of the bowlers can bat. Neither Jones nor Read can play as wicketkeeper-batsmen. They need their frontline all-rounder to perform if they have to win a match here. He's equally likely to get injured in the Champions Trophy, in the warm-up matches and even in the Ashes. The fact that this is a big issue shows that Flintoff is no all-time legend by any stretch of imagination and there is absolutely no provision for back-up in the England side.
Colly can bowl a bit and er Saj can batArjun said:Could bowl? He HAS TO bowl!

You shouldn't get so worked up about a meaningless ODI tournament, we aren't and it's our team ffs.Arjun said:Could bowl? He HAS TO bowl!

So what exactly has Read done wrong with the bat since his return then?Arjun said:Neither Jones nor Read can play as wicketkeeper-batsmen.
Step 1: Check to see how many sixes he's hit.marc71178 said:So what exactly has Read done wrong with the bat since his return then?

Sensible stuff for me. Fred's his own worst enemy sometimes, has a heart the size of a house & it's clearly to the detriment of his health sometimes. I hop Big Dunc keeps the great man on a tight leash if things (as they inevitably will) go wrong in the CT & we need a wicket. It doesn't take a genius to work out Fred will be champing at the bit to get the ball in his hand. The Baconator said:
