50s and 90s.

10s are just awful. Poor openers (relatively), terrible opening bowler, only 3 real batsmen. Just not a great side. It's like a souped up version of the current Australian side.

50s and 90s sides just look like much better teams, though the 90s side is a bit weak in the batting.

50s and 90s

Two of the beast teams in this one

I wouldnt worry about a batting lineup with Tendulkar, Lara, Waugh and Aravinda. Gooch was also atg level in the 1990s

50s and 90s, just about. Think Stephen's post above massively underrates the 2010s side though. There's barely anything in it. (Only Hutton is a significantly better opener from the other teams; the bowling attack is just as good as the 50s one and the only one of the 3 to have a decent 5th bowler; #batsdeep.)

Maybe. I just really don't like Warner opening in most countries. I also really don't like Anderson opening in most countries. I also don't like a number 6 who averages in the 30s. Excellent, probably the best 3-5 mind you, but some massive, glaring weaknesses IMO.

How's Anderson any worse than Alec Bedwetter? Looked the man on cricinfo for the first time and he has a record so lopsided it makes me respect Anderson. Ur-Anderson if you will.

Not to mention, that 50s team is full of strange names who never played in Asia, not even against the anemic XIs India and Pakistan used to put out back then. That is to say, how's Warner any worse than Harvey?

The third XI from 2010 would bury the best XI from before the decade of 60s and Stuart Broad would then lead the charge to urinate upon their tombstone.

A random mid level Olynpic heavyweight today would take out Ali at his prime

that doesn’t mean Ali is not the greatest

Yeah put any modern batsman and give them the equipment from the 50s, no bouncer limits, no helmets etc and no preparation.....

ATG openers are of course great but to be honest I don’t think you NEED them. You just need them to stick it out for the middle order. And the 90s has a great middle order, and an epic (and varied) bowling attack.

On the other hand you do NEED at least a very good middle order (or meme runs from your debutants apparently) and definitely a great bowling attack.

Also given that most of us grew up watching the 90s I’d be surprised if it didn’t win.
The 90s team is the best and it doesn’t even have its best possible team. Dravid in for de silva (averaged 50 ~3k runs)

De Silva had X factor Dravid was just a wall. Don't need a wall in a team already with a Waugh

load of rubbish

Its that to say an army of today with stealth fighters would bury any army from world wars. Its a fallacy.
