Currently raining at Lords. Supposed to clear in the next half hour.
Yeah, we should start on time. But the wicket is reported to be a bit green, so the early morning rain may tempt whoever wins the toss to bowl first.

I mean come on, Chris Woakes and Mark Wood, are we suppose to take them as real threats?
If Guptill plays like he has been playing in the tournament then Chris Woakes' son can nick him out.

But if Guptill plays like 2015 WC then Woakesy has little chance.

I hope Guptill has had hypnosis to think they are Sri Lankan or West Indian and that he’s playing at Eden Park
No, he just needs to think it is 2013. He was absolutely immense against England in that ODI series. He also scored that 180 vs a South African attack a couple of years ago which was miles better than these English bowlers.

Yeah I actually think that SA innings was his best (despite the double hundred). And that English one. That was freakish.

I blame Laura

I reckon Nicholls is going to be the surprise packet. The bloke was the most successful batsman in the world (Virat and Kane were better but he was more successful) in test cricket last year, yet he's completely under the radar. I'm picking a run a ball 80.

This is starting to have a real test match feel to it. And while England is a better ODI side, NZ is a much better test team.
