Famous Batsmen You Didn't Like to Watch

CodeOfWisden

U19 Vice-Captain
Not just his stance but even some of Smiths shots are unorthodox, especially how he slogs spin over long on with a near 90 degree rotated bat after getting to his century.
I find him quite watchable.

Steve Smith is a rare genius and great to watch. What made his batting a bit irritating in the last Ashes was the dross the England bowlers continually fed him under the guise of believing they had come up with a plan to stop him.

Barry Richards is considered an elegant strokemaker but every highlight I've watched I've never found his batting aesthetically pleasing. Something about the long windup and crouch looks ungainly to me particularly any horizontal bat shots. Graeme Pollock on the other hand was never described as good looking (atleast to the same extent) and imo his strokeplay looks way ,way better.
Think G Pollock gets lot of praise for his minimalist style. I love the look of his batting too.

Moss

International Captain
Steve Waugh, once he put away the expansive shotmaking. Think Ian Chappell was not too far off when he wrote "if you've seen one Steve Waugh innings, you've seen them all".

bet Ian Chappell was secretly very bitter about his 120* which was one of the most entertaining WC knocks of all time

Didn’t care about Steve Waugh, Kallis, Sanga, Joe Root etc. on the other hand there have been players whose style I initially wasn’t fond of but later grew on me. Amla and Smith fall into that category.

Ian Chappell was a knob though.
I find it it fascinating how many bitter ozzies hate Waugh, he was clearly an hugely inspirational player who played lmost perfectly for the situation, oh and I obvs hate praising a crim, but if it's having a sideswipe at enormous knobs like Chappelli and warne I'll live with t.

Oh and on topic Steve Smith and Miandad, irritation personified.
