It would be utter "stats out of context" to put Imran at 6. No way he is a 6 on an all decade team.

He isn't a number 6, but with the batting fire power the team has up to 5, they can afford a bit of a drop off at 6.

Yeah, this is my thinking too. I understand the argument that Imran isn't a number 6 (though for what it's worth, when he batted at 6 he did very well) if we are looking at that purely in isolation and if we had a long tail then I'd be fully supportive. But we're going to have a high class batsman-'keeper (probably Dujon, maybe Kirmani?) plus Hadlee and Marshall - and maybe even Kapil or Botham, depending on how people vote. So the batting depth is going to be fantastic.

And if we say Imran can't bat at 6 then that implies a preference for a specialist batsman in that slot - meaning we're only playing four bowlers. Which in an era of such bowling strength (including a quartet of legendary allrounders) seems a waste to me. But that's just me - it will be interesting to see how people vote.

Botham averaged 34 and Kapil Dev 31, think Imran with 44 can bat at six, since Kanhai somehow batted at five in the 60s team

If you have the anticipated top 5 plus Botham, Dujon and Imran, that would do me.
Sorry but with Hadlee and Imran already in the team, Botham is completely unnecessary imo. Assuming that we need a spinner I'd opt for Iqbal Qasim.

Therefore:

Imran
Wicket keeper
Hadlee
Marshall
Garner
Iqbal

I'm assuming Botham at 6 as the 4th seamer (even if he probably won't be) and putting in Abdul as the spinner.
