Next world cup team should be :

J.Hart

G.Johnson
M.Dawson
G.Cahill
A.Cole

Walcott
Huddlestone
Wilshere
A.Johnson

Rooney
Defoe

The oldest player would be Ashley Cole in his early thirties.
Terry, Ferdinand, Gerrard, Lampard, Barry should all call it a day before the Euros and then give the young lads a chance at the tournament to get them ready for the more important world cup 2014.
Certainly won't be the team.

Would expect one or two surprises in there .Someone like a Morrison or Mceachran will be in the team.
I guess you will also have Gibbs there instead of cole.

Email quits England then. From the BBC.

Likeable lad, just not of the first water of strikers. Says huge amount about the paucity of other options he played as much as he did.
Don't know how he managed to play so many games for England.

I said it before the tournament too .Would have been better for England to play Zamora instead of him if they wanted a big strong forward up front.

Watching England will be a lot less funny without the ball bouncing off Heskey's shin and out for a throw-in every time they cross the halfway line.

Zamora was injured.

Been moaning that English players are too direct etc, may as well pick up a gun Spaniard who can keep the ball.

Would have him tomorrow if he's game, tbh.

Still hoping youth will get its head tho; seems little point in holding onto ageing mediocrities and never-wazzers now.

I believe that 18 yr old New Zealander who came on against Italy and looked better than anyone England had has a British passport - missed opportunity

The 17 year old future of England. From about .48 onwards, cuts across two Spanish defenders and fires low into the corner.

Saw the boy in the flesh when Town played at St James Park on the last game of the season and he has the lot. Tall, great in the air, good first touch and two-footed. Scored a last minute equaliser to boot. Even the most sceptical of my Town affiliated mates are a little excited by him. An £8m bid from Spurts already rebuffed, apparently.

He will probably get shifted to the left Flank to accomodate Lampard like Scholesy was and then will retire.

Just yesterday in a friendly against Celtic,Scholes produced passes which don't think even Xavi could have .Delightful long balls with 100 % accuracy.

There is ,specially when it is to set your winger free on goal or to cross to your striker.

And also when after 6 or 7 passes your move is going nowhere.
Ah yes, the Kevin Keegan approach to international management. Even if the above were true, it assumes that England have wingers who are capable of getting free/crossing, and strikers who are capable of scoring. Very dangerous assumptions to be making.
