The bit about Hales is good to hear.
"The whole trip since we've been in Australia I felt Alex had a shift in his maturity and level of professionalism," Ramprakash said. "It's always a challenge for any player that if they're not playing in the final 11, to keep themselves motivated and practice well. But he's done that really well...."
The impression I'd got from various things over the years is that whilst Hales isn't exactly lazy he doesn't really go out of his way to improve and work hard on his game which generally is what separates the decent player from the good international player. There aren't many in the game who hit the ball so naturally hard as Hales. If he can take some of James Taylor's work ethic that would be great.
