Baxball publicity is in overdrive

Nasser thinks a classical team would be 80/5 but because England bazball'd they have an extra 100 runs

Tbh if I’m being a bit facetious, do we know England would have lost only two wickets if they batted attritionally? Defence isn’t a strong point of this top six.

Yeah if they were 180/5 at tea that'd be a pretty average to meh first day for most teams away.

But we are going to get these sessions. Key, McCullum, Stokes are the greatest Trio since the Beegees. And they are driven and are improving everything

So it's not going to be a records tabs kind of day sadly
Well one long time record has now fallen and Stokes crashing some boundaries off the last few balls off the over right before lunch did the trick.

... Most runs in the first day of a test in the first session: 5/180... beating the previous record set waaaay back in 1902 by South Africa against Australia 1/179.

They came oh so close doing so last test but I think they bowled 6 more overs this time and that got them over the line.

Tbh I was thinking just before lunch that Root's England could quite possible be around that score. I mean it's never the plan to be 5 down at lunch so I'm not saying that was a win in the session......but considering 30 odd for 3 was our norm in and if Root went cheap the innings was more or less over. Nass probably does have a point......even if it's a tenuous one.

Hey I'm not saying it's impossible, but it's unlikely

What a record! Some knock from Llewellyn that, ftr. Against a pretty strong attack.

You can't dispute the math tbf. Disprove his theorem, the calculus is tested and proven
