Umpires taking a long time out there. Have they spotted some brightness in the distance?

I'm surprised Bairstow hasn't tried to put the sun lamps on and shine them through the window to make it look like it's really dark out there. I almost expect him to wear a miners lamp on his helmet.

I stand by my view that the weather NEVER saves us, typically though it seems to be actively hindering us - because bad light is the only thing preventing me from calling today a Lou Reed.

We took the last two wickets for just 12 runs this morning, meaning we mopped up the Yorkshire tail by taking 4-12 - “a rare delight” as Mr Sugden from Kes would say. After that, despite incredibly testing conditions, we were able to get through to Lunch with only one blemish on the scorebook and even more impressively, we’ve seen the runs flowing all afternoon without any further loss.

Weather forecast for Day 3 looks like an improvement on today, but the long range forecast suggests we’ll be very lucky to get a full days play on Monday.

We need to get 186 more runs as quickly as possible and then re-assess. Could be that we declare at that point, I’m not sure we can get to a ‘traditional’ bat once total such as a 550 or a 600 in the time that’s left, whilst also leaving enough time to take ten wickets on what appears to be another good pitch for batting. Might be that we look to get a lead of maybe 250 and then pull the plug, but given the time we’ve already lost I would still like to think we give ourselves enough time so that we can chase a modest total on the last day should it come to that.

To revisit my opening paragraph, it’s incredibly frustrating that the one time this season we’ve put ourselves in a position to force home our advantage, we’re being robbed of the time to actually do it. Where was this weather when we were under the pump at Trent Bridge or last week?

Cheered me up a lot today catching the Durham alerts and a bit of a watch just before Gay got his century

The weather looks identical tomorrow and Monday has a 20% chance of rain from around 1pm, this is on my iPhone weather map for CLS

I fancy we will force the win in this game though Potts has to improve his standards to help achieve it

As you know I've been saying that about the weather since 1992. It's extraordinary how many times we've been in winning positions only to be denied but you could probably count on the fingers on one hand the occasions it has saved us in 30+ years.

Was great to see Gay get a ton after his batting woes and Lees mastered all of Yorkshire's bowlers in a superb knock.

You deserve two likes for mentioning Lou Reed and Kes in a cricket post.:D

So much going on I need four screens to follow everything

We could have won the first two games and this one is another potential win

I think we will achieve it

There's not many better sights in county cricket than the Yorkies being put to the sword  Shame the umpires have gone off for bad light again
Getting Leeds fans prepared for next season.

On that subject, they may as well just merge with Leeds at this point. Majority of players, fans and coaching staff all from the West Riding, Graves too, deeply dislikeable and think they're better than they are. Don't know anyone from my neck of the woods that bothers with them apart from the odd trip to Scarborough just to see some professional cricket relatively close by.

That's the impression I get (missus from West Yorkshire so spend a fair amount in the area). You would have Yorkshire cricket fans as far as Middlesbrough at one time, now it's very much Leeds centric. Mind most of them I find quite fickle when it comes to sport, you don't realise they are Leeds/Rhino's fans until they are winning a few games.

Lived up in Leeds for uni so I went to Elland Road for the Watford game back when they were a bang average Championship club, for all the talk of what a big club they are, they pulled about 20,000 that day lol

New second wicket partnership record (279) for Durham!!

AND now out 😂

Loving the positive intent though, 37-1 from 11.3 overs so far today so we do need to get a wiggle on. No reason why we can’t score another 200 in 30 overs and declare with 60 left in the day.
