Just caught up with yesterday’s play, was out yesterday afternoon and night so stayed away from the score intentionally.

Think it goes without saying that we have to get the last two wickets as quickly as possible, I think that anything less than a 70 run lead makes forcing a win very difficult. We know from recent history that this team are very good front runners, so the second innings batting is likely to be very entertaining - but it’s going to be an interesting dynamic to see how many and how long they want to leave for tomorrow.

It still looks very good for batting and whilst the bowlers ran in hard and put the ball in good areas, most of the batsmen got themselves out.

This short ball theory is f***ing stupid. Brand new ball in their hands and they’re completely wasting it by banging it in halfway down to two batsmen who aren’t the slightest bit arsed about it.

25 minutes off utter s**t this morning, the most inevitable thing in the world here is Warwickshire getting parity, meaning ALL the pressure is on our batsmen to save the game.

Lead of 62 so just a bit short of what you’ve said you feel we needed. Can we do it? Bat sensibly and we can IMO, but precious few players have done that so far this season.

Aye, I’m trying to temper my feelings here, because if I’m being honest, I’d definitely have taken a 62 run first innings lead after the way we batted - I still think we were about 70 short AND I’d probably have taken 38-2 this morning in hindsight also, but what’s annoyed me is the manner with which it’s come. They faffed around for 40 minutes bowling far too short and runs came easy, the minute they switch to proper bowling they get the final two wickets

83 overs left today, would quite like to see us bat for 70 and get the lead over 400.

Christ almighty, the amateur hour umpiring continues. That Ben Raine shout against Yates in the first over of Warwickshire’s innings, which was hitting all three was NOT OUT, but Alex Lees was given out there, to a ball that pitched outside leg and had more than a passing fancy with being too high FFS
