Duncan Fletcher Blasts Australia

Marc incorrectly claims that England's bowlers stayed off for 8 minutes or less on each occasion they left the ground.

The scenario you paint is closer to the truth.
So no doubt you'll provide us with proof of this then.

And how do they go off immediately before their spell to have this massage that is being claimed?

I don't think it's quite as difficult as you're making it out to be. Massage can be used to aid recovery, I'm not saying this is what they went off for by the way cause I have no idea. Going off after your spell for a massage would be beneficial though. This may have been stated here before, but why did they have to go off so frequently in this series? As I've said in earlier posts, I don't think it made any difference as we were simply outplayed, but I do find it curious all the same.

Just because you pay for a 1/2 hour massage at the local massage parlour doesn't mean that's what athletes have. A 3 minute loosen-up does wonders.

Hell, 3 minutes might even be enough time for some "extras" if the masseur really knows what they're doing - and I've heard the English staffers are top of the line.

No - Fletcher is going about it the right way if he wants anyone to buy his book (it's on my Christmas list if you want to buy it for me).

Some people (not just Australians) are going to hate his guts irrespective of whatever he writes or says - because of the way he says it.

Haven't got your copy yet, Sanz?

I understand it covers sports other than cricket too. There's a pretty good bit in it about shooting in India.

That will double the number of sales of Ricky Ponting's Ashes Tour Diary, due out soon. Seriously, if the ICC cares about cricket fans, it would impose a blanket ban on current players releasing books. What next? "Shaun Tait - My First Test - Part 1"

LOL Howardj, I agree.

Flintoff having an autobiography at his age is really silly. Have players like Lara, Sachin, McGrath and Warne done so yet?

Steve Waugh has only just recently released his, and how long did he play for?

I have Allan Border's autobiography........... from 1985..............

It's not a new thing for players to do so, as idiotic a practice as it is. Ricky Ponting had one about a year after he played his first Test.

Jono, There are some books on SRT but no auto-biography yet. Where is the time for this guy ? Made his debut @ 16 and has played 100+ tests and close to 350 ODIs, numerous First class games, county cricket, endorsments, marriage, honeymoon, two kids, restaurant, captaincy(twice)....This dude has done it all in last 16 years. But it would be an interesting read, if he decides to write one and I will definately buy it. :)

He's too modest to write a book about himself.

Im wading through Tugga Waugh's book at present. Im up to the sixth chapter. He's a good writer, but it's the things he writes about in the book that are a little boring so far. For instance, he's going through every Test series that he played in, and often it's rather detailed. Bit like reading a string of match bulletins, with some analysis thrown in.

The first Tendulkar book I would recommend would be The making of a cricketer By brother Ajit. It covers Tendulkar from a kid till a he plays his first test match.

There have been other books but I have not been bothered to read them.

Yeah I have a few of his biographies, they're very good reads but it'd be great to read the story of his life from his perspective. If he ever releases an autobiography, I'll be one of the first there in the stores. :)

Yep true, hopefully he does release one though,

Fair play with most of them. The one that I think he over-emhpasised was Gilchrist's "We're due a bad decision here soon, boys" comment. That's week-in, week-out sort of thing.
Nothing wrong with that.

All he did was speak the truth.
