It's close, but Boycott's technique holding up reasonably well v Australia and WI as an older man than when Dravid became ineffective v Australia and SAF incl on slow low Asian decks is a big point in Boycott's favour. And while Dravid was a run machine for a long time, Boycott was considered the best batsman in the world by many during the tour of Australia in 1970/71. He also didn't get to bat in the run-heavy 2000s.

Um if we apply this standard nobody can ever give a passing comment to a current conversation though. I think all of us have done that at some point.
