I really enjoyed this post as well. I imagined you looking at the list of 50 or so players he could have picked and thinking "yep, as long as he doesn't pick Trueman I'll be sweet here", and then your face as the Trueman picked rolled in.

Haha well actually I knew that realistically his choices at that point were Trueman, Holding, Waqar and Donald. The absolute best pick for me was if he picked Waqar since that would unlock McGrath. Donald left me only with Waqar as a good option. Trueman and Holding unlocked each other and Trueman was the better bowler.

Of course noping the hell out of there back to the 30s would have been even worse but of those 4 ATG quicks, picking Trueman resulted in the worst outcome for me. I knew he was going to because Trueman was the best of the four.

Is just nuts in this draft. If he picks up exactly one more bowler who is somewhat decent it's an attack that can't really be beaten.

My own attack is enough to take 20 wickets. Holding and Rabada with the new ball, Tayfield toiling away keeping things tight with Noble as first change is an attack which compares to the best in history, but it's nothing on one or two of the others. The fact that Noble took over 4 wpm is pretty insane for an all rounder.

The snake draft aspect has really hurt players at times while they watch the best players all get snavelled up ahead of them for two rounds in a row.

Grabbing 3 bone fide ATG batsmen has helped my side a lot.

Yeah, I've got a 'handy' but not elite attack by the standards of this draft but Lara/Pollock/Waugh definitely boosts my standing.

If I was in your position I'd have just been annoyed I was 0.2 off being able to pick Goddard.

Who is Serbie?

The player who I don't envy is michaelf, who basically has WG Grace and a massive bowling attack.
