All the press AC13 got for being quite arguably the worst game of all time left them worried people would confuse the two games if the release came too soon after, and I don't blame them one bit for that.
Was there a lot of negative press in general or just a few niche groups complaining? Serious question as I'm not aware of how much press that actually garnered.

Interestingly enough, the CEO of BA knew AC13 was balls and should've been canceled, and IIRC he admitted to waiting for that game to be canceled or postponed indefinitely and then coming out with DBC14. To his shock they actually released it and then pulled it back, poisoning the waters for him (and getting away with murdering 505 games reputation). Earlier in the thread you'll note I was actually on board with their current strategy, but waiting and waiting to see what happens with AC13 when your game was apparently ready to release sounds like a bad strategy. I guess it's tough to blame them for what they did afterwards.

**** consoles :(
I've been thinking about investing in a gaming PC instead of a PS4 later this year/early next year, but I'm increasingly questioning the feasibility of that with so many developers marginalizing their PC ports from a release perspective.

Do you know how to assemble your own setup? If yes, get the parts that you need from newegg and build the PC yourself. Fun and satisfying. Really wish we had something like newegg in India. Their deals are good at times.

Looks like Brian Laras cricket 2005, Which is the best of its kind ever
Apart from the ability to hit 6-sixes and the like.

There are some things it gets right. I like the historical perspective it lends with its all-time XI thing, but much of the gameplay is a gimmicky sell out.

You don't need a particularly powerful computer to run modern games at really solid settings tbh.

Yeah, things become interesting when you want top of the line sound systems to go with it or multi monitor setups. Or water cooled setups(a waste of time imo if your room is air conditioned).

Started assembling high end PCs on my own last year and its fun. Also a great business when you do it for kids who want the latest graphic cards that they just googled.

"No you don't need two Crossfired Gtx 760s you little ****, you aren't going to need it to run EA Cricket 2007 (ON HD!!!) but sure I will keep my mouth shut and line my pockets instead of correcting you and bringing down the cost."

Kid straight up told me I didn't know what I was talking about in front of his father and wanted to go to someone else when I was trying to save his dad some money because I wouldn't recommend what he was asking for. Built him a stupidly expensive system and earned good commission. Was my worst build ever.

I learnt a hell of a lot of stuff about building desktops from here:

To clarify, I don't have a PC right now... at all. I use my work laptop that I lug around literally everywhere with me to browse the web. My post was basically saying I don't know if I want to invest because developers are increasingly treating their games' PC ports as red headed step children when it comes to actually releasing the games.

Lots of people on PC have it and the first impressions are generally very good. There are some minor bugs as expected but they're being worked on for a patch. Basically, don't do the Get Best option for downloading rosters and you'll enjoy the game. Everybody is raving about the controls.
