dont think Watson will be moving.... not for next season at least
What makes you say that?

His contract is up, and he has family back in Queensland. He has always said he would like to return. Stuart Law retiring has opened up a spot in the middle order...

It is still distinctly possible that Campbell will move - what the VCA said was they probably wouldn't offer him a contract so he would have to work through the premier cricket system.

The VCA, however, have stated their intentions to sign Shane Watson but I reckon if he leaves Tasmania it will only be to Queensland.

Nah the campbell rumour got knocked on the head by the vca they aren't interested in campbell,i think campbell was just stiring the pot too see if he could get a good deal.
The cosgove rumour i heard on another forum can't confirm if it is true or not,nor the source.I know from somewhere else i read that the blues are on the lookout for batsmen to replace the 2 waughs.
Hmmm I guess they are after a fringe batsman or two from another state. Or maybe a batsman on the fringes on international selection for his country (say England for example).

Oh ok no probs craig.
Read in the hearld sun tasmania has made a 3 year offer to mick lewis, mathew innes has said despite wa s' offer he will stay home.
With heath streak retiring i'd expect him to play in australia or s africa in the off season while playing in england,he has retired from all forms of zimbabwean cricket.
Hope now he is retired mugabie doesn't take his fathers' farm.

If I was Heath Streak's parents I would a) get a small loyal army to fight off those trying to steal their farm b) cut their losses and leave the country.

Shane Watson can't move! For one, he's holding up Tasmania as it is. He makes them competitive. He is Tasmania's X-Factor, he has the midas touch.
If he wants to do what's right for his career he'll stay in Tasmania. He has more options there. Sure, now that Law has retired he might get a permanent spot in the Bulls lineup, but would he get a spot up the top of the order like he does for Tassie? Highly doubtful. Plus his bowling would probably be almost not needed if he was playing as a middle order batsman.

As for Victoria, well I can see him being of more use there than Queensland, but he just has to stay in Tassie!

Not true.

Watson would easily slot into the Qld number 4 batting position in the Pura Cup, he would take the place of James Hopes who has been very dissapointing this season. Therefore he would be the fourth seamer, and as Hopes got plenty of bowling I can see Watson doing the same.

In the One Day team Watson would likely open, once again taking the place of Stuart Law. He would also get a bowl, as Qld have struggled this season with their third paceman, and would likely share the new ball with Bichel, leaving Hopes as the third paceman.

Therefore I can see him getting more oportunites with Qld than he would with Tasmania.

Unlikely considering Vaas will be in NZ with Sri Lanka next summer.

Dont think they will sign somebody if he wont be available for all the matches when we know he is a certainty to be playing over there and for all Sri Lanka Homes & Away Series unless injured.

Why? What advantage would that have?

Shame to see John Taylor go. I think he was starting to show some good signs for WA. Still, I think it's good to an extent; it will force WA to pick a new bowler who is not a bits-and-pieces player. Too many around like Wates, Taylor, Harvey, etc.. there's others I think too. Not saying they're not worth a place in the side, I just think it's suicidal stacking your bowling attack with them.

i would like to give u my opinion:

Shane Watson - i think he will stay in tasmania... as did mat pavlich stay at the dockers same scenario different game i know but both talented players out of there home towns.

Campbell - would wanna lookout for luke ronchi.

WA pace bowlers - who ever said it wasnt too flash is wrong we won the ONE DAY CUP. Maybe we can grab one of NSW talented bowlers geez they got enough. or Shane watson can come to WA heaps of QLD'ers live here.

Shane Watson will return to Queensland I will put money on it.

For the record. W.A. won the ING cup on the back of their batsman. Chasing scores of 250+ in most games. You win Pura Cups through your bowling (except this year, it was declarations) not ING cups.

There is a rumour every year that a high profile name is coming to play in Australia. I doubt this very much, but I always like to see how guys from other countries would go in Australian domestic cricket.
