Whilst we would like to have Davo taking the new rock in Dubai, he unfortunately retired in about 1964.

Cummins? He's only played against strong opposition, had had a "long" career (in terms of years) and taken a lot of wickets (relatively).

Or it's one of the 3 kiwi bowlers who have a decent number of wickets over long careers.

Or maybe it's the forgotten man of South Africa - Tahir, though one would place him below Lyon probably.

Maybe it's Ishant Sharma who gets a lot of crap on here but has had a long career and probably takes more wickets away than at home.

Career Points: 43

Career: 2014-
Wickets: 165
Gold Performances: 2
7/76 vs. Sri Lanka at Galle 2015 (16.28)
6/72 vs. England at Lord's 2016 (15.73)
Silver Performances: 5
Bronze Performances: 7

Overall Average/Strike-Rate/Points Per Innings: 27.45 (29.45) 59.55 (56.22) 6.20
50 Innings Peak Average/Strike-Rate/Points Per Innings (2014-2017): 27.76 59.39 6.14
Non-Home Average/Strike-Rate/Points Per Innings: 27.45 59.55 6.20
Quality Opposition Average/Strike-Rate/Points Per Innings: 28.69 61.85 6.21

As I thought, noone thought of Yasir Shah. But to be fair, he is a left-field pick to be in the top 50. But his points per innings is outstanding, putting him at no.7 in the top 100.

If I counted Yasir's matches outside the U.A.E., then his non-home stats would be: 30.62 63.51 5.63, still enough to get him in the top 50 between Underwood and Hall.

It is relatively early in Yasir's career, and it will be interesting whether he can maintain his position in the top 50.

I think the fact no-one can play spin for **** these days helps him. He's good but not that good. Not playing India would greatly assist him, needs some matches in SA and NZ too.

India is not as great at playing spin as in 90s and 00s.

Ian Bishop (West Indies) 738

Career Points: 49

Career: 1989-1998
Wickets: 161
Gold Performances: 2
6/87 vs. India at Bridgetown 1989 (15.60)
6/40 vs. Australia at Perth 1993 (16.57)
Silver Performances: 3
Bronze Performances: 2

Overall Average/Strike-Rate/Points Per Innings: 24.13 (24.38) 52.10 (52.20) 4.27
50 Innings Peak Average/Strike-Rate/Points Per Innings (1990-1997): 21.33 47.10 4.90
Non-Home Average/Strike-Rate/Points Per Innings: 23.28 51.26 4.39
Quality Opposition Average/Strike-Rate/Points Per Innings: 22.68 50.48 4.49

Everything about Ian Bishop's outstanding and consistent record across all criteria suggests he would have been rated much closer to the best ever West Indian fast bowlers if he had played more tests.

Yes . If Bishop had played hmm as many tests as Amby no doubt he'd have well over 400 wkts, striking in the low 50s and an average of 21 to 24. Shame about that back
